I guess I will treat this post just as a general update and general information.
Life has been cruising along for Layton and me. Layton finished his semester at UVU and is taking one more class this summer before graduating with his associates degree! Then in the Fall, he'll be coming up to the U! I am very excited/happy because I work at the U so we go to opposite ends of the Salt Lake Valley every day which makes for some looong days. We wake up a little before 7, are out the door by 7:30 (most days... it can be tricky deciding what to make for lunch and for me, deciding what to wear is the worst part of my day usually) and then Layton doesn't pick me up from the train until after 6pm that night. I ride the train to and from work which is an hour both ways. I am very grateful for public transportation and honestly, it's so nice not driving, not dealing with traffic and just getting to read or listen to music on my way to and from work. But I will be happy when we live and work in the same general location.
Layton will most likely be going into Architecture at the U. We've heard every opinion and comment about it and know that it won't be easy. We won't really know what it's like until he's doing it, and we can handle it. He took a rendering class this past semester and absolutely loved it. I really think he can do pretty much anything because he is responsible and very hard working.
Our one year anniversary is coming up on Sunday. I can't believe it's already been one year. I have learned so much about myself and about Layton. I can't even imagine what it will be like in 5 or 10 years. How can there be so much to learn about someone? It's amazing. We are going to spend the weekend at his parent's cabin up by Sundance in Provo Canyon. It's such a cozy place and it's supposed to rain or even snow so I am very excited to be just the two of us in a cozy little cabin. I'm really looking forward to it.
Last thing, we watched Interstellar the other night and I was so surprised how much I LOVED it. Layton has wanted to see it since it was in theaters and it never looked appealing at all to me. I was somewhat starting to think, okay, maybe I'll just watch it and deal with it. We finally did, and it was awesome. I think that's the most accurate word because I was somewhat in awe of the complexity and ideas behind the story for the movie. I hope I don't ever live to see a time where dust covers everything and the only thing that grows is corn, but I am grateful for those who are willing to push the boundaries of science in some aspects and let their fear go to discover things that could be.
