Women's USA soccer team vs. Switzerland and Yellowstone

We went to the USA women's soccer game against Switzerland at the Rio Tinto Stadium.  We won 4-0!  The entire first half it was 0-0 and then at the beginning of the second half, a player (can't remember her name) was subbed in and within 45 seconds she had scored! We scored 3 more goals somewhat quickly after that and won the game! It was a lot of fun.  We went with several of Layton's family members. During halftime they had a DJ mixing up music and the whole crowd was dancing, it was the best halftime I've been to! They would have people who were particularly into the dancing and music up on the jumbo tron and they even cut and edited the video to have them go back and forth and redo their moves, it was hilarious.  I had never seen a crowd so into dancing! We had a wave going for a good while too which was awesome.  I just love being in big crowds and being united in cheering for a team.  It was fun to boo calls and celebrate when something awesome happened. We've been to a few Real Salt Lake games and I am positive we'll go to more.

Soccer is Layton's favorite sport and he played it in high school and a little bit in college.  He was on several intramural teams and while we were dating/engaged I would go to his games at UVU.  They were out at these fields pretty close to Utah lake so far away from from any big buildings or businesses.  They were so much fun and I have lots of good feelings and memories of going to them and supporting him.  Hopefully he'll be able to someday have the time to be on a team and play again.  Right now is not that time unfortunately, he is just way too busy.

We went to Yellowstone over Fall Break but we only spent one day in the park.  The night before we drove to Island Park and stayed at this cute little hotel which was insanely quiet.  It felt like we were the only people there.  We ate at a Mexican restaurant (El Sabor) which was pretty good and Wes loved the refried beans :').  I was nervous about having Wes in the same hotel room (we were wanting to put him in the bathroom in his Pack N Play but the bathroom was too small), but thankfully the room was really big and we just put him far away from us, blasted his sound machine and he was fine.  He slept awesome! And I did too, which I normally don't in hotels.

The next morning we headed out for Yellowstone (we left a little too late so we didn't get to see as much as we wanted).  The weather was very cold and wet.  The park was gorgeous though with lots of mist and beautiful scenery.  Since it was so wet and cold, I didn't want to get out as much as I normally would.  But we saw the Norris Geyser Basin which was so awesome! The colors were gorgeous and it's just like nothing you see in normal life.  We were also able to see the Grand Prismatic Spring but it was pouring rain and we got soaked, but Wes was a total champ.  We couldn't see the Spring very well because it was so cold and letting off a lot of steam, but it was cool to feel the hot steam and disappear in the fog and I saw a little bit of the colors when the steam would blow away for a second.  We missed Old Faithful >_<.  It was going off as we pulled up so Layton ran out to see it while Wes and I stayed in the car.  After that we headed out off to Jackson where we were going to stay the night.  We stayed in another adorable little hotel, this one felt like we were in a log cabin and this time the bathroom was big enough for Wes to sleep in.  He ended up staying up until like 10:30! But he still woke up at 6 haha.  That's our Wes.  The heater was super weird in our room though and we couldn't hear it turn on so we turned it up suuuper high and then it was burning hot.  We finally got it down to a good temp but I was worried about it being cold in the night so I turned it on, lo and behold, I woke up in the middle of the night DYING of heat.  I was considering going outside because I was so hot.  But overall, a lovely stay.  We ate breakfast at The Bunnery and it was so yummy (If you ever happen to go, get the Gros Ventre - so good).  Then we headed out to go home.  The drive out of Jackson was actually one of my favorite parts.  The scenery was so gorgeous and there were misty low clouds that made everything just look magical.  We drove through Star Valley and were able to stop at the Star Valley Temple which wasn't quite open yet.  We got to stretch our legs and look at it from the outside.  The drive home felt very long and I was super excited to sleep in my own bed again.  But it was a lovely trip and I really enjoyed being with my boys.

Wes was a total champ with traveling and only had like two meltdowns in the car.  He was awesome considering we were in the car for like nearly 30 hours all together in 3 days.  He is such a trooper and he loves seeing new places and exploring.  With him being around so many different people who take care of him, I think he's become super social and just loves being out and about (who knows, maybe all babies are like that?). But I also think that's just in his personality, but the things he experiences (like being taken care of by both Layton and mine's mothers, a girl in our neighborhood who also has a baby around his age, and all of Layton's siblings on a weekly basis), it plays to his personality of being social and he just loves it! We love him so much and think he's the bees knees.

He's currently cutting two, maybe three, teeth, and he is a total champ! He was fussy last night before bed but slept for nearly 12 hours! And was all happy when he woke up.  He's so awesome and we are so grateful to have him in our family.

Snuggles with Wes are the best.

Star Valley Wyoming Temple.  It was super bright and windy.

We stopped in Pocatello on our way up to Island Park and stopped at this awesome park to stretch our legs and get Wesley's wiggles out.  It was super fun and Pocatello is such a cute town!
